Green Gym visit May 14th 2014

Another visit by the Green Gym resulted in many of the brambles from the Butterfly meadow being dug up, some of the overhanging growth cleared from the paths and preliminary work done on identifyting wild life in the stream to try and assess the purity of the water. Kick samples were taken by disturbing the bottom of the stream and catching any products downstream in nets.

Freshwater shrimps and bloodworms were found and there may have been some dragonfly nymphs. Further stream ana lysis will be done on the Green Gym’s next visit in June

We need YOU!

As Play Lane Millennium Green is open for everyone to enjoy, we must have Public Liability Insurance. We also have to carry out regular management of bramble and scrub clearing as well as thinning of the oak trees to encourage optimum growth. Amongst all that, we have to carry out maintenance work on footpaths.

£500 minimum is needed each year to maintain the green to its best standard, for everyone to enjoy.

This is where you come in, follow the link below to find out how you can support the Green.
