Once again some very useful work was carried out by the Green Gym volunteers.
The wet winter had caused a lot of mud and debris to collect under the walkway leading to the stream and this was causing the supports to start to rot. This mud was dug out so that there is now a clear space underneath and the need for any repair work can be assessed.

Overgrown footpaths were also trimmed back and some clearing of the scrub on the edge of the woodland area took place.
Some of the volunteers took further “Kick Samples” from the stream to see if any further species could be found and on this occasion freshwater shrimps and a water cricket nymph were identified.
