We were delighted to hear in December that we have been awarded a grant from Grassroots so that we can improve the footpaths throughout the Green, many of which become muddy and slippery in wet weather. The plan is to lay geotextile in strips about a metre wide and then to put down a top surface of limestone chippings. This will weather and become colonised by plants producing a firm but non-obtrusive pathway.
It is hoped to start this work in the early summer, weather permitting.
