As part of an Island wide enterprise, The Big Tree Plant, we have been given twelve trees for the Green. Yes we already have a lot of trees but these are of different native species which when mature will provide more resources for wild life. Today we planted two “Wild Service Trees” and one Walnut tree. When the appropriate areas of the Green have been cleared we will also be planting Elms and Field Maple.
The full benefit will not be seen for many years but as our ancestors were forward looking and planned 50 to 100 years ahead, we must try and do the same for future generations.
