Very Little Damage after Strong Winds

The recent strong winds fortunately caused very little damage to the trees on the Green apart from on either side of the stream near the wooden bridge. Two trees which were already dead, had partially fallen and were threatening to block the stream if left. These have now been removed.

The oak wood continues to develop and as part of its ongoing management plan, approved by the Forestry Commission, further thinning will take place in the Spring. This is necessary to allow optimum development of the strongest trees.
